Our Story

OUR FOUNDING FATHERS
Bishop Rehmat Daniel, the founding father of the Church of God in Pakistan, was born in a small village in Pakistan in 1942. Before entering ministry, he worked as a crane operator. However, when God called him into His service, Bishop Rehmat Daniel faithfully responded, leaving his profession behind to pursue theological training.
He enrolled at Full Gospel Assembly Bible College in Pakistan and graduated in 1968. Following his graduation, he served with the Full Gospel Assembly for the first ten years of his ministry, faithfully preaching the Gospel and developing a passion for church planting and discipleship.

In 1976, the Church of God in Pakistan was established through the vision and leadership of Bishop Rehmat Daniel and his father, Peter Daniel, a missionary who ministered in Iran and Afghanistan. They were joined by Dr. Lovell R. Carry, Church of God Missions Overseer for Asia, in laying the foundation for what would become a growing movement across Pakistan.

Through decades of dedicated service, Bishop Rehmat Daniel planted, organized, and nurtured more than 200 churches throughout Pakistan. As a result of his tireless labor, combined with the faithful service of countless pastors, leaders, and church members, the Church of God has established a presence in nearly every major region of the country. Today, more than 30,000 believers worship and fellowship within these churches.
Despite facing significant health challenges later in life, Bishop Rehmat Daniel remained steadfast in his calling. He continued teaching, preaching, and serving the Lord until the final weeks of his life. In January 2007, he went home to be with the Lord, leaving behind a remarkable legacy of faith, leadership, and dedication to the Kingdom of God.

Today, that legacy continues through his sons, Bishop Jonathan Rehmat and Joel Rehmat, alongside many faithful pastors and leaders who remain committed to the vision he established. By the grace of God, the Church of God in Pakistan continues to grow, strengthen communities, make disciples, and lead countless people to faith in Jesus Christ.
As we look to the future, we remain grateful for the sacrifices of those who laid this foundation and committed to carrying forward the mission of proclaiming the Gospel and advancing the Kingdom of God throughout Pakistan and beyond.
